Who is Anne?

Murderer, Artist, Lover, Pedophile, Business Woman, Cult Leader, Suicide case, Casualty of war, Psychopath, Terrorist, Child killer, Tree, Pornographer, Cat walk model, Megastar…..

Scene 1- Anne’s Apartment

·      Anne lies dead on the floor surrounded by a white chalk line

·      Song ‘Where do I begin plays’

·      Answer phone plays its messages

·      Each member of the cast stands in turn and mimes their voice over on a mobile phone

·      When each actor has finished their section they begin to slowly work through the various physical possibilities of who Anne could be.

·      When the last actor has finished speaking all actors synchronise their gestures, building the tempo until it’s a very fast and intense set of dance like moves.

·      Song finishes, actors sit.

·      Anne wakes up goes over to the answer machine and deletes the messages, picks up her red bag, takes a gun out of it and leaves.

An Orchard of Plum Trees

·      A picture of her face (Polaroid) burned around edges

·      Blossom tree film and bird song played

·      1 person digging a hole to plant trees, 1 person watching

·      Digging a hole for burying the bodies

·      Who speaks - the digger or the watcher?

·      Burning bush

·      Burying photo/body?

Scene 4 – Breakfast Show

·      Dream like movements – solo dance (drinking tea, opening mail, on the bus)

·      Daytime TV broadcast of two neighbours being interviewed (Text). Shown on TV screen.

·      Images of tea, mail, bus… plus poloraid burning bush, gun etc…popping up on projector screen

·      Cast become TV audience back to audience drinking tea, so that audience are watching people watch TV.

Scene 5 – Fashion show

·      Advert

·      (words sung or shouted by members of the cast)

·      3 girls on Catwalk

·      Paparazzi with cameras flashing

·      The photographers become Aggressive

·      Throw/smear blood on them?

Scene 6 – padded cell

·      Every member of the cast sits on the floor

·      They are dressed in white hospital gowns now

·      As they speak they cut out and stick pictures in a scrap book

·      The red bag sits on stage

·      Stock photos of holiday destinations intermingled with images from the play…gun, burning bush etc…flash up on screen

·      A video of a holiday show host is projected on the screen at the relevant intervals
